How this tracker classifies public positions

What is included

Publicly evidenced positions of national FIFA member associations identified through a systematic discovery sweep and individually rechecked by 28 August 2026. External trackers and roundups are discovery tools, not evidence. Official association sources are preferred; established independent reporting is used where a stable primary record was not available.

What is not included

Confederations, leagues, players, fan groups and personal statements are not treated as national-association decisions. A confederation position is never assigned to all its members.

Leadership, efforts and 2027

Support for current leadership or current efforts is not a 2027 election pledge. Opposition to the FFE/private-equity plan is not automatically opposition to a candidate.

Decisions, non-endorsement and personal statements

A formal association decision or official association statement can enter a matching scope counter. Not signing or endorsing now does not by itself mean an association will vote against a candidate. A personal statement remains personal unless a federation decision is publicly established.

Changed positions

The newest verified position within the same association and scope is current. Earlier positions remain in a dated, sourced history and are never counted twice. A leadership transition does not automatically revoke or reaffirm an association position.

Missing associations

The tracker aims to include every public position identified and verified by the review date, but it does not guarantee completeness across all 211 members. Evidence labels

CONFIRMED means the public position itself is supported by the listed evidence. DEVELOPING would identify a still-moving or incomplete public record. Neither label is a verdict.

No election prediction

The counters answer narrow source questions. They do not count expected ballots, do not claim a majority of FIFA's 211 members and do not predict the result of a future Congress vote.
