WHAT THE CFA SAID
On 29 August 2026, the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) published an official statement saying the necessary conditions for Gianni Infantino to continue exercising the duties of FIFA president were no longer in place. It also said the relationship of trust and collective responsibility had been significantly eroded.
The Cyprus News Agency independently reported the association’s statement. The CONFIRMED label applies to the publication and content of the CFA’s institutional position.
THE UEFA CONTEXT
The CFA said it had remained aligned with UEFA’s common position throughout the recent institutional process and adopted the new common position reached in Monaco on 27 August. That UEFA context does not convert the statement into a separate position for every UEFA member association.
