WHAT THE GUARDIAN REPORTS

The Guardian reported that senior figures in African football had approached FIFA secretary general Mattias Grafström to sound out his interest in a possible challenge to Gianni Infantino for the FIFA presidency.

The report said two African federation presidents had separately contacted Grafström. It said he was understood to have been surprised and noncommittal, and that he did not respond to The Guardian's request for comment.
