THE ANNOUNCEMENT
FIFA announced on 11 September that its Ethics Committee’s adjudicatory chamber had sanctioned four former officials from the Maldives and Montserrat associations. The two former presidents received lifetime bans from football-related activity; two other former officials received ten- and fifteen-year bans. AP independently reported the announcement.
WHAT THE DECISIONS ESTABLISH
FIFA attributed the sanctions to findings involving misuse of football funds and other ethics violations. It said they took effect on notification that day, with written grounds to follow. This is a record of FIFA disciplinary decisions. The announcement does not establish their appeal status or a criminal-court judgment, and it should not be conflated with separate complaints concerning Infantino.
