THE COMPLAINANT’S POSITION
European Leagues said on 8 September that it had extended its European Commission competition complaint to FIFA’s women’s international match calendar and related competitions. It alleges that FIFA’s regulatory and commercial roles disadvantage domestic leagues and calls for women’s league representatives to participate in calendar decisions.
RESPONSE AND PROCEDURAL LIMIT
FIFA told Reuters it had consulted and secured Council approval. AP reported that FIFPRO had withdrawn from the original complaint following its June cooperation agreement with FIFA. The extension is a complainant’s action, not an established infringement or a Commission decision.
